“The Lord said to Moses, ‘Is the Lord’s power limited? Now you shall see whether My word will come true for you or not.'”

In this passage, God promises to provide meat for the Israelites. They are wandering in the wilderness and He promises to give them so much meat that it will come out of their noses. However, Moses doubts this. He doesn’t understand. It doesn’t make logical sense and he cannot see any physical evidence that God could do this. He asks if they will kill all flocks for them or gather all the fish in the sea for them. He doubts God’s promise and puts more trust and hope in the problem. God responds with this verse. In God’s response, He declares His own power and acknowledges that Moses could not, at that moment, see with His eyes that God’s promise would be fulfilled, but that he, one day, would.

I must trust God’s promises, trust His word. I must believe that God is powerful to do anything even if it makes no logical sense and I cannot see with my eyes any evidence or hope that God could do anything. God’s hand is not waxed short. He is able and powerful. Trust Him.
God is able and powerful to save. He is the only One able to save. Not us, not any other false gods. God and God alone can save.
