There are tons of things that keep our relationships with God from progressing. It is usually failure.
So apparently what is happening is that Joshua is splitting up the rest of the land for the remaining seven tribes. One tribe named Dan couldn’t defeat the people in a certain area that was to be given to them. However, they did not just roll over and accept it. They knew they needed more. They did not have enough room. So they worked for it.
A lot of times that is how we need to be with our walk with God. Sometimes it gets hard and we lose. But we cannot settle for a failing relationship with God. We need to get up again, realize that we desperately need our relationships with God to be growing and healthy and fruitful. Fight again for it. Fight again and again and again. Every time we fail, we need to get up and fight again.
