Main point: God’s redemption.
In this chapter, David redeems Israel as their new king. They go from being defeated by the Philistines at the end of Saul’s life to conquering them in David’s. It also lists David conquering and taking Jerusalem and all his mighty men.
I need to remember this. God is the Redeemer. He takes brokenness and wasted life and makes it new and powerful and worth something.
This shows the gospel in showing God’s redemption. He took Israel from hopeless to hopeful, from weak to strong. Through faith in Jesus Christ, God does the same thing in us.
