I mess up so many times, I wonder if God wants to just give up on me. I should know better than to fall the ways I do but, because I’m an idiot, it happens. I question if God can ever make anything really great out of my life.

I need to always remember how strong my God is and act like it.

1) Five times in this chapter alone, it mentions God commanding Joshua to do something. In the very next sentence, it mentions Joshua doing that exact thing. Joshua was obedient to God. He knew that being a new leader, he couldn’t lead these people properly by himself with his own ideas, he had to follow God’s leading. I think that is what built him up to having the people be in awe of him. In my life, if I am following God’s commands, incredible things will come of my life and others will be in awe of it. Not to say I’d become so awesome that people would love me, but people would just be floored by the power of God through my life. That’s what I need in my life, obedience.

2) Joshua was telling the people about the 12 memorial stones that they set up. It was to remind them, all the people of the world, and future generations that the hand of God is strong. He has the power and I need to live in a loving respectful fear of Him who can part rivers. The God of the universe loves me and it’s the joy of my life to figure out how to love Him more and more each day.
